Religious Superstitious Awe (φαρμακεία)

One of the works of the flesh is very religious. Often translated as “sorcery” or “witchcraft”, it actually is referring to a religious superstition brought on by a place, experience, or person through which someone feels closer to God.

And the works of the flesh are manifested, which are: Adultery, fornication, uncleanliness, licentiousness, idolatry, religious superstitious awe … Galatians 5:19-20.

We find in Revelation this type of work of the flesh is related to religious matters. The harlot, Mystery Babylon the Great, will deceive the nations through her religious superstitious awe (Revelation 18:23).

All world religions use this type of work of the flesh to manipulate their followers. Whether it is through spectacular buildings, separation of clergy from the people, worship services that focus on getting an emotional response, or individuals that claim to be able to heal, speak in tongues, teach gain is godliness and many other methods, it is all about the awe imposed on a person to manipulate them to think that they are closer to God.

Christianity is actually not a religion, it is Christ. A Christian is one who is a disciple of Christ (Acts 11:26). Religions come from the flesh, not from God. Through manifesting the fleshly work of religious superstitious awe, buildings, idols, denominations, and people are setup to satisfy the conscience to serve a supposed higher power that pleases the fleshly desires rather than the one true God.

True believers worship God in spirit and truth. Worship is giving God credit for what He has done (Revelation 4:10-11), spirit is our rational part (1 Corinthians 2:10), and truth is seeing things as they really are. Superstition has no part in Christianity for it requires ignorance. Rather, we are to come to a […]

The Only Acceptable Message for Salvation

Why is the Gospel for Salvation the only acceptable Message for Salvation?

What makes the Gospel Message so important? Is it not sufficient to simply say that if you accept Jesus you are saved? or Jesus died for you? Does it really matter what you believe or just that you believe? To understand why it is so important to accurately present the gospel for salvation today, which is Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, we are going to look at what God has said throughout the Scripture and the affects on men who either modify God’s word, completely ignore it, or followed exactly what He said.

After renovating the earth [1] due to the fall and judgment of Lucifer who once reigned over the entire created universe as God’s anointed Cherub[2], God planted a garden in Eden[3] and created Adam to tend to the garden[4]. Prior to God building the woman from Adam, He gave instruction to him on how he was expected to govern his life and the consequences of failing to obey His word. Adam was free to eat from all the trees of the garden, except the tree of the knowledge of what is beneficial and what brings calamity in the midst of the garden[5]. God stated, “But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil do not eat from it because in the day you eat from it dying you will die.”[6] Once Eve was made from Adam’s side, as the steward of his dispensation he passed on the words from God to her; […]

The Substantial Value of the Blood of Christ Seen through the Different Cases and Prepositions used with the Blood

PDF Version |

Understanding the cases and how they relate to the sentence is extremely important to fully understanding what is being expressed by the author. Since in the Greek language, case is governed by function, not by form, it is important to also look at other aspects of the sentence to determine which case the noun is being used in and then in what way that case is being expressed. Prepositions are also a very significant part of the sentence and often limit the nouns to a specific case because of the function of the preposition. When it comes to the blood of Christ there are many different views; however, the more predominate ones are whether it is figurative or literal. Did Jesus shed His blood on the cross for all mankind or is the blood only being used figuratively of the work of Christ on the cross? In order to understand if a concept is figurative or literal we need to understand how it is being used in the sentence and whether the function is restricted to either figurative or literal all the time. If it is not restricted to one concept or the other, we then need to look at the meaning of the case and the context to determine if it is figurative or literal in application.  As we study Scripture it becomes very clear that the blood of Christ is literal and was shed for the sins of mankind. We see this through the different cases and preposition that are used with the blood of Christ. Each case has its own sphere of understanding and expressed a completely different concept that often times must […]
